This particular type, in fact, encompasses all the types of curtains we use within our home, from the classic ones window curtains to the most unusual curtains separates environments.

In this guide, therefore, we will focus on this topic: we will try to understand what are the various models of tents offered by the market, dividing them according to their use and various needs.

In this way we will have the opportunity to clarify this vast and articulated topic, while providing useful advice for making a good choice.

– Interior blinds: what they are for and how they are presented

Interior curtains, as mentioned above, are all those present within our home and are therefore used at set of windows and door windows and, if necessary, also for separate the different environments.

There are really many models of curtains belonging to this category, divided according to their shape and the way the curtain opens and closes. Next, therefore, we will examine ten of these models, which represent the most common in our homes, as well as the most used. Let’s see what they are.

Interior blinds: the ten most common models

As we have just stated, the following ten models of interior blinds are the most common types. In essence, they are structured in such a way as to result suitable for the various uses we can make of them, evaluating them according to the model we choose.

  1. Glass curtain

Also known as a “classic tent”, it is the most widely used and exploited model. It foresees to be mounted on the windows through the use of a rod fixed on the frame, through which the awning can slide to be closed or open.

This type belongs to the category of minimal curtains, characterized by a straight and simple line, without frills and marked by the essentials. This usually makes it suitable for use in the kitchen or bathroom.

2. Curled curtain

This other type is another of the most exploited models and belongs to the category of curtains with rings.

They are considered the tents by antonomasia and are suitable to be decorated and modified at will, thus appearing in tassels, with cords, with trimmings, with drapes and so on, depending on our personal tastes and the style of the furnishing of our home.

This tent also stands out in three sub-categories, divided according to the way in which we open and close it:

  • to a single panel, perfect as a curtain for a small window, simply sliding in one side direction;
  • with two sheets, ideal for larger windows, and characterized by the fact of opening and closing in the two opposite directions;
  • Double, literally composed of two curtains, in which one is a lighter under-curtain suitable for passing light, while the second is a darker overlay perfect for modulating the brightness and ensuring greater privacy.

3. Curtain with valance

Although belonging to the category of modern curtains, this particular type is characterized by conferring a classic touch to our window or, rather, window door. Given its grandeur, in fact, this type of frame is ideal for hosting it.

In essence, it is a large tent with a central decoration positioned in its upper part, suitable for cover the unsightly window boxes. The most common version that is used is the one with drapes.

4. Tent with stick

They are also belonging to the category of gathered curtains, but characterized by the presence of sticks on which to slide. Extremely easy to assemble, they are perfect for environments such as the living room or the bedrooms and are available in lots of different shapes and materials.

5. Panel curtains

The particular design of these curtains makes them perfect for homes with modern and avant-garde furnishings. In fact, they literally present themselves as a series of smooth and perfectly straight panels, thanks to weights placed in their lower part.

The panels in question they slide on the guides through a precise movement that can be manual or, in more technological contexts, even motorized.

In some cases, it is possible to have them fixed, that is to say not subject to sliding but simply fixed to the guide by means of a strip of Velcro. Extremely easy to disassemble and clean, they are also very economical.

6. Roman blinds

These types of curtains are characterized by a vertical opening, through a particular movement carried out by means of a string that “packs” them in the upper part.

They are divided into two sub-categories: we have those smooth, Characterized by the fact of packing upwards without any kind of curling and the curly ones or a balloon, definitely the most decorative, whose main feature is precisely to go and create a sort of curling when they are pulled towards the other, a frill that can be further enriched with flounces and trimmings.

7. Roller blinds

These tents are similar to the previous ones, distinguishing themselves simply by gathering them at the top through a roller, which also helps to keep them well spread when they are open.

It’s about a extremely minimal solution but, just like the previous one, also a bit uncomfortable, since the window to which they are applied can open completely only when the aforementioned curtains have been completely pushed upwards.

It goes without saying, therefore, that these particular types are certainly not desirable as tents for sliding windows.

8. Vertical blinds

Vertical blinds are the classic curtains used in offices designed to darken the room by simply adjusting their orientation. They consist of a series of vertical strips made with technical darkening and filtering fabric.

The movement needed to regulate them can be of a lateral and rotary type and, by virtue of their particularity, they are becoming more and more popular also in domestic environments.

9. Venetian blinds

Practical and essential, these curtains generally consist of a series of thin horizontal sheets made of plastic, wood or aluminum and, as for the previous type, they also have a movement through which move them vertically upwards or turning them on themselves, thus adjusting the entry of light.

Thanks to their resistant material, they are particularly recommended for the bathroom and the kitchen, ie those environments where it is most likely that the curtains are subject to dirt and humidity.

10. Cat-tail curtains

This type of tent represents the absolute best when it comes to divide two different environments. It is not meant to be pulled, since it is formed by a series of cords which, due to their soft and spongy consistency, remind us of the tails of our little cats.

A classic variant consists of being formed by beads strings and, as for the soft type, to pass from one room to another it is sufficient to pass through the cords.

These, in essence, are the ten most common models to which our tents belong. In the next section, on the other hand, we will examine more specifically which are the types that best fit the individual rooms of our house, keeping the models shown here as a point of reference.

– Each room has its own tent: the importance of choosing well

After having illustrated the individual models available on the market in the field of interior blinds, we will now focus on which choices it is best to make according to theenvironment where our tents will be placed, taking into consideration the main rooms of the house: the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room.

Bathroom, kitchen and living room: how to choose the best curtains?

Below we will propose some potential ideas for those that are the three main rooms of the house, namely the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room. These are obviously simple advice and, as such, perfectly questionable. It will then be up to each of us, in fact, to determine how best to proceed for each of these rooms.

1. Bathroom curtains

In choosing the curtains for our bathroom window, we must necessarily take into account two different factors: on the one hand, being will have to rightly harmonize with the general furnishing of the environment but, on the other hand, they will also have to guarantee us the right level of privacy.

Choose to put pictures Venetian style curtainstherefore, it could prove to be an excellent idea: not only, in fact, their plastic material will keep them safe from any humidity, but their simple and essential line will make them suitable for any style of furniture, without counting that, thanks to the practical functionality of these tents, our privacy will be assured.

2. Curtains for the kitchen

If it is the kitchen window that needs curtains, on the other hand, it is permissible to indulge a little more. This is because the kitchen, as well as the living room, represents the fulcrum of our house and, as such, it should present curtains perfectly in tune with its style and be as nice as possible.

Roman blinds, for example, could be a good idea if our kitchen has a small window. Those who curl at the top, perhaps decorated with some small drapes, they would give the environment a rustic rustic touch, not at all bad, besides being able to dose the light according to our needs.

3. Living room curtains

Speaking of living room curtains, you can’t help but think big. The living room, in fact, literally represents the visiting card of our house, the main and most lived room, the one in which we accommodate our guests. His tents, therefore, must be presented as the perfect window frame and therefore they must have a high aesthetic value.

Everything, of course, depends a lot on the size of the room, the type of window we have to drape and also the style of the furniture. A beautiful curtain with valance, for example, is the best choice if our living room is large and has a nice glass door.

Alternatively, you can always focus on the classic glass curtains that, thanks to their essential and minimalist lines, are able to match any style of furniture and window size.

Door curtains: a separate discussion

Curtains with doors usually refer to those curtains used for separate two different environments. In essence, they are so defined because they have the function of going to replace the door.

The model that best fits this need, as we have already seen, is the one known as “Cat’s tail”. As mentioned above, this is a particular type of tent that is not meant to be open and closed, but rather is designed to pass through.

The model composed of soft cords, usually in shades of brown, is probably the most exploited and used.

Even in this field, however, it is possible to indulge in choosing the models composed of beads, decidedly more colorful and pleasing to see. Moreover, they also have the merit of giving an original oriental touch to the passage on which they are placed, as well as to the environment in general.

– Conclusion

The ones we have proposed in this small guide are the main models of indoor tents on the market. As we could see, each of them turns out suitable for certain types of environments and not recommended in others. Everything depends not only on the style of furniture in the room in question but, above all, on the type of window we intend to adorn.

On the other hand, the discourse concerning curtains for doors, which, as we have seen, represent one is different solution to replace the door itself, thus becoming the perfect solution for transit areas.

What matters, in any case, are our personal tastes: these suggestions can certainly serve, at least to make some clarity on the subject and maybe even suggest some small ideas. The final decision, however, is always and only up to us and must be made on the basis of our preferences and current needs.
